A Robotic dog controlled by an i-Phone has been launched in Japan.

Takara Tomy is now developing a new robot – and it’s the quintessential man’s best friend.   This robotic canine, while it comes with its own remote control, is also
controllable via a smartphone.

  • i-SODOG comes with standard motions pre-programmed into its system, including 15 custom servos.
  • Custom motion routines may be added to the pre-programmed motions through the i-SOBOT style controller.
  • The robot’s head and back contain touch sensors, so that you can pet it like any live dog and expect some realistic response.
  • The robotic dog is expected to recognize no less than 50 different voice commands.
  • Working through Bluetooth, iOS and Android smartphones may be used to control the i-SODOG.
  • The i-SODOG may respond and dance to music played via your smartphone.
  • Built-in basic artificial intelligence will accommodate behavioral changes over a period of time, just like any live dog.
  • A capacitive touch sensor is built into the robotic dog’s nose, designed to transmit information between two i-SODOGs.
  • Operating time is expected at 1 hour before requiring recharging. However, this projected operating time may be longer or shorter, depending on the robot dog’s activity.
