Baby found alive in coffin, now in critical condition

The Argentine newborn baby who was declared stillborn and put in a refrigerated room at the hospital’s morgue for nearly 12 hours is now in critical condition. Fox News Latino said baby Tiny Luz Milagros, or "Miracle Light," is suffering from sepsis and convulsions along with signs of neurological damage. She is now on a ventilated room receiving antibiotics treatment.
Dr. Diana Vesco, neonatology chief at the Perrando hospital in Resistencia in northern Chaco province, said that the baby’s condition is common to infants who are born three months premature. She faces a "risk of death commonly associated with her weight and gestational age at birth," Dr, Vesco said as the baby’s weight declined from 800 grams to 750 grams.
Five doctors were suspended for declaring the baby as stillborn in April 3. Neither hospital officials can explain what happened. Claiming that the hospital has facility with strict procedure when the infant was born, Jose Luis Meirino , the hospital’s medical director, said there were even obstetricians, gynecologists and a neonatologist who attended her.
However, Edward Bell, a University of Iowa specialist in premature infants considered this as a remarkable story,citing unusual cases in which someone is declared clinically dead but signs of life suddenly return. “The morgue's refrigeration may have saved the baby's life because it likely cooled down the infant's metabolism and reduced the need for oxygen.”
