Who would have thought that farting can be beneficial to our health?
According to a recent study, hydrogen sulfide might help lower one’s
blood pressure. Yes.
Researchers at
Zhongda Hospital at Southeast University in
Nanjing are unsure of this. They still need to find out how much gas is
needed for it to be beneficial.
Another thing is that, will patients agree to “eat farts” for their treatment?
An experiment was done at Johns Hopkins University in which the the
smell of flatus, which comes from from hydrogen sulfide, effectively
controlled the blood pressure of mice.
An associate professor 'Yuyu Yao' at Southeast University, said that
it has not yet been tested on human beings. A working dosage could be a
problem because of the size difference between humans and mice.
The gas could have side effects on other parts of the body, he added.
Interested in being a test subject for this new exciting research?
